Grace does not mean do as you please and somehow God will forgive everything.
Grace means God’s love in action toward men who do not deserve it . Grace takes many forms in the Bible.

- Common Grace: God’s goodness that is poured on all men. Mt 5: 44 – 45.
- Saving Grace: Provision of salvation on the cross of Calvary. Acts 15:11
- Securing Grace: Manifestation of God’s goodness by which Christians are kept in spite of sin. Rom 5: 1-2
- Sanctifying Grace: Grace that works in the believers to give growth / maturity and Christ likeness. Acts 13:43
- Serving Grace: Enablement to minister. The term “gift” is a derivative of the word “grace”.
- Sustaining Grace: Grace given in times of need. Acts 4:16, 2 Cor 12:9
God’s grace is free; it is not paid for by you, it has been paid for.
1 Chr. 21:1
God rebuked David and gave him a choice of 3 calamities.
3yrs of fame – at the mercy of nature
3 months of defeat – at the mercy of enemies
3 days at the hand of God – at the mercy of God v 11 – 12, 13

But grace overlooked all.
Grace cannot short-circuited. Everything was supposed to work against Jacob but God is on his side.
