Our vision in Men Matters Ministry is to provide resource to all males and how to be a real man in today’s world. Quite sadly, not many information are available on this great aspect of need today, the more reason so many males have not really measured up to a real man.
“There was a man sent from God, whose name was John” (John 1:6)
“And I sought for a man among them that should make up the hedge” (Ezek. 22:30).
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?” (Ps. 8:3).
From these Scriptures, we can see clearly that God takes much stock by the man. Right from inception of the world, God relies on Man to take the lead and care for the world for Him. God is pictured as constantly searching for a man, not boys, males, but a real man (II Chro. 16:9; Jer. 5:1.)
Warped View of a Real Man
Man and society are warped in their view about who a real man is. Many believe that being a real man means:-
- Sexual Prowess
- Ability to beat wife
- Ability to provide
- Lots of money and success
- Building and mansions
- Ability to have many children
It is a reality that many males possess all these, yet are not real men in the true sense of the word. There is a world of difference between being a male, a real man, a husband, a father and a good daddy.
Enslavement for Men
Most men are slaves of these three giants – Fear, Feelings and Failure:
1. Fear – of tomorrow, death, disappointment and people.
2. Feelings – dominated by their passions and libido. They lose honor, respect and impact because they are slaves of their feelings.
3. Failure – they are ready to cut corners and sign away their soul in order to appear successful in the eyes of others.
But a real man has learn to overcome all these. He has learnt to live above them.

Profile of a real man
A real man can be described in these four ways:- Relational – Empowering – Attitude – Learning.
A. He is a man of Integrity
He lives an open and transparent life
He hates and shuns corruption
He is a man of his word- true to his promises
He lives by principle and character
B. He is a man of Identity
He knows who he is
He accepts his strength
He works over his weaknesses.
He uses his strength to undergird and help.
C. He is a man of Intimacy
He has a vibrant relationship with God
He depends on God’s strength through prayers
He has intimacy with his family
He has intimacy with his friend
D. He is a man of Influence
Shows love and care for his immediate family
Offer hands of help and assistance to others
Provide resources and platform for others to shine
Contribute meaningfully to the upliftment of society
These traits must be found in abundance in the life of a male before he can be described as a real man. Every man must work these qualities into his life if he is to be a true and real man of today
Marks of a Real Man
- A Real Man is a man of godly character.
- A Real man is a man of his word
- A Real man is a spiritually growing man
- A Real man don’t joke with his family
- A Real man is independent of his parents
- A Real man is purposeful and focused
- A Real man is not overwhelmed by problems
- A Real man can rise up from the ashes of failure and defeat
- A Real man is a disciplined, cultured and complete gentle man
- A Real man makes good investment of his Time, Talent and Treasure
- A Real man contributes positively to life and society.
Every male must pray, work and adjust so as to measure up to being a true real man that God is looking for.
